I want to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is iain lawson and I have been a Web Developer and Engineering Director for over 20+ years. My career has spanned both Digital Creative Agencies in NYC and corporate environments. I strive to look at each project as a fresh new challenge where I bring my wealth of knowledge to the table and can articulate solutions to both technical and non-technical people alike.

As an Engineering Director, my role was to interact with clients to understand the business needs and to interface with those in technical positions to procure the systems and technology needed to deliver steller web design work. I also worked with a team of engineers on each project to define specifications and drive engineers to do thier best work. I acted as a mentor to those engineers to help guide thier personal career growth and advance their overall technical expertise.

As a Web Developer, I have worked on the Front-End and Back-End of many high-profile websites. I am predominately coding in PHP, Shopify Liquid, and I also know ColdFusion as that is where I started in my career. I am also a fully qualified WordPress Developer.

Besides working as a freelancer, I also run a small web-driven business called Detective Hawk Games – We are an online-only board game store similar to a hobby shop. That website is an excellent example of my Shopify/Liquid programming work..

Finally, my experience working in Creative Agencies has also broadened my knowledge of the Business side of creating a website. I don’t immediately say I will build you a website, I need to understand why you want one and how best to achieve your marketing goals. Websites are a great tool, but they are by no means the only tool.
